Latest London Bus Contract awards


The latest awards have recently been announced by Transport for London as follows

142       (Watford Junction & Brent Cross Shopping Centre) Awarded to London Sovereign using existing fleet 2012 Euro V diesel double-decks currently on routes 120 and 222. Currently operated by Arriva London with a mixture of Alexander Dennis, DAF and Volvo double-decks from Garston (GR) Garage (contract start date 6th January 2018).

Arriva London Volvo B7TL / Alexander ALX400 number 6171 (originally VLA 171 within the London operations), as it passed along Station Road, Edgware bound for Watford Junction

258       (Watford Junction & South Harrow Station) Awarded to London Sovereign using existing fleet 2012 Euro V diesel double-decks currently on routes 120 and 222, plus four new Euro VI hybrid double-decks. Currently operated by Arriva London with a mixture of Alexander Dennis, DAF and Volvo double-decks from Garston (GR) Garage (3rd February 2018).

Arriva London VDL DB250 / Wrightbus Pulsar Gemini number 6035 at Watford Junction bound for South Harrow

642       (West Hendon & London Academy, Canons Corner, schooldays-only) Awarded to London Sovereign using existing fleet 2012 Euro V diesel double-decks currently on routes 120 and 222. Currently operated by Arriva London with a mixture of Alexander Dennis, DAF and Volvo double-decks from Garston (GR) Garage (6th January 2018).

At much the same time as the above mentioned contracts were awarded, a road run took place to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the post-war RT class double-deck AEC Regent. Several of the type followed the old route of service 10 from Victoria in Central London to Abridge out in Essex. Keith Valla has kindly supplied the Focus website with a small selection of images from the day's events at the Abridge end and line-ups at Leyton (T) Garage.
