During my recent visit to the London area I took the opportunity to visit Croydon to see the tram system in operation, as well as taking in the general transport scene.
I departed from Croydon West Station using the London 'Overground' system which took me to Canada Water station where there is a link to the Jubilee tube line to central London.
The 'Overground' system uses class 378 trains manufactured by Bombardier in Derby.
The trains have fully longitudinal seating and open interiors and are modelled on tube stock rather than conventional commuter trains. The interiors have a completely open view along the train.
