Selwyns Acquired by RATP


COACH operator Selwyns Travel has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by French transport group RATP who run Manchester Metrolink.
Selwyns has depots in Runcorn, St Helens and Manchester and employs more than 200 staff with a turnover of £15m.
It was formed in 1968 and clients include local authorities and blue chip companies including National Express, Barclays and Emirates.
In 2011 Selwyns bought £4m turnover transport firm Haytons of Manchester as part of its strategy of expanding its North West client base.
With a fleet of 90 vehicles Selwyns Travel will continue to operate as an independent division of RATP Dev UK under its managing director Selwyn Jones.
