Newbury Rally

I spent time at the Bus & Coach Preservation Rally in Newbury yesterday, so here's a few pictures from the event. Superb weather and an interesting range of vehicles made the day at this excellent showground.
I've selected pictures of buses with destinations that I have association with and this Bristol Lodekka is showing Leighton Buzzard as the destination. We lived in LB  for a few years and it's nice to see this 1966  ex United Counties restored to a high standard.
Prior to living in LB we lived in Reading and here we see RM with Reading blinds from the period when Routemasters were used in service in the Reading area.
Still thinking about the days of living in Reading here we see ex Alder Valley Bristol VR CJH 141V arriving at the Newbury showground.
My original home town of Chesterfield is well represented above and below with 1982 Leyland Tiger
283 URB which is owned by the Chesterfield 123 Preservation Group. website

I include this picture because I like what has been done to this ex National Express liveried Plaxton coach, which has been fitted with newer style mirrors which give the coach a much more modern appearance.
I've always been a fan of Delaine vehicles so here's a shot of AD62 DBL, their Wright bodied Volvo B9TL which had made the 130 mile journey from their Lincolnshire depot.
More Newbury pictures will follow in due course
