Fellsman

Quiet for news at the moment so here are pictures of the double headed 'Fellsman' at Carlisle. photographed by David Little.

The Fellsman runs weekly on Wednesdays via the Settle & Carlisle line to Carlisle. It makes a stop at Appleby where passengers who have booked a lake cruise are transferred to Cumbria Classic Coaches vehicles and taken to Glenridding. They then travel to Pooley Bridge by boat where the buses meet them and take them back to Appleby to re-join the steam train heading south.
This particular run on Wednesday 7th August was double headed with two Black Fives 44932 and 45231.

45231 is named The Sherwood Forester

The boat heads north along Ullswater carrying the passengers who have arrived from Appleby by bus and in the meantime the buses travel back along the winding A592 to Pooley Bridge to await the arrival of the passengers.
