A new bus service started on 30th September in
Truro, Cornwall under the title 'Truro Circular' service 327. Ken Jones was in
Truro a couple of days later to try out the service,
Working on an expanded figure of eight and operated
by one bus the service allows people from the suburbs of this hilly city to get
to the shops, hospital, museum as well as bus station and other places within
the city. MX55 WDA has been repainted and rebranded as Falriver Buses to operate
this service which costs £2 for the entire route although most of the passengers
I saw had bus passes. It is more like a community service with the very friendly
driver trying wherever possible to get passengers as near as he can to their
destination. The bus lowers at the front for loading and unloading passengers
but the door also swings open over the pavement allowing people to use the grab
rails to board or alight from the vehicle.I hope it becomes a success for the
city and more similar routes are started.
The service is operated by Enterprise Boats who not
only run river boats in the area but offer a bus service between Truro and
Malpas.
