WEDNESDAY 28th SEPTEMBER 2016, is
exactly 40-years since the Society was founded.
To mark the event at 4.45pm one or more preserved former Chesterfield Transport buses (hopefully to include Leyland PD
225 and Daimler 266), will depart Chesterfield Town Hall to follow the former
1976 bus route 54 to North Wingfield. There will then be a celebration
buffet at the Blue
Bell Inn, before the buses return to Chesterfield.
The celebrations will then
continue with a meeting at Rose Hill United Reformed Church beginning
at 7.30pm. During the evening the President and some of the Vice
Presidents will give short speeches and there will be illustrated
presentations showing the
past 40 years of bus development in Chesterfield.
All those interested in
attending the buffet meal at North Wingfield are asked to contact
Neville Whitmore by phone or text on 07709-987478.
But to finish with, a selection of Chesterfield operated buses liveried to celebrate certain aspects of the town and the main operators (Chesterfield Corporation Transport, East Midlands Motor Services and Stagecoach), over the past few decades.
