The UK Railway companies

Transport especially the railway companies often come in for bad press in many instances, so today Focus Transport pays tribute with hats off and a well done to them.
Yesterday (10th April) on the occasion of the Service Funeral at London's Southwark Cathedral for Metropolitan Police Constable Keith Palmer, free travel for serving Police Officers attending (and in some cases retired officers), was offered by most of the railway companies, along with London Overground & Underground. This allowed officers from many parts of the United Kingdom to pay their respects to a fellow officer and in turn, line the route of the funeral cortege.
Among the first companies were Grand Central and Virgin Trains. Others then followed suit, splendid gestures well appreciated by all concerned.
