Latest London Bus Contract awards


The latest awards have recently been announced by Transport for London as follows

142       (Watford Junction & Brent Cross Shopping Centre) Awarded to London Sovereign using existing fleet 2012 Euro V diesel double-decks currently on routes 120 and 222. Currently operated by Arriva London with a mixture of Alexander Dennis, DAF and Volvo double-decks from Garston (GR) Garage (contract start date 6th January 2018).

Arriva London Volvo B7TL / Alexander ALX400 number 6171 (originally VLA 171 within the London operations), as it passed along Station Road, Edgware bound for Watford Junction

258       (Watford Junction & South Harrow Station) Awarded to London Sovereign using existing fleet 2012 Euro V diesel double-decks currently on routes 120 and 222, plus four new Euro VI hybrid double-decks. Currently operated by Arriva London with a mixture of Alexander Dennis, DAF and Volvo double-decks from Garston (GR) Garage (3rd February 2018).

Arriva London VDL DB250 / Wrightbus Pulsar Gemini number 6035 at Watford Junction bound for South Harrow

642       (West Hendon & London Academy, Canons Corner, schooldays-only) Awarded to London Sovereign using existing fleet 2012 Euro V diesel double-decks currently on routes 120 and 222. Currently operated by Arriva London with a mixture of Alexander Dennis, DAF and Volvo double-decks from Garston (GR) Garage (6th January 2018).

At much the same time as the above mentioned contracts were awarded, a road run took place to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the post-war RT class double-deck AEC Regent. Several of the type followed the old route of service 10 from Victoria in Central London to Abridge out in Essex.
