The Dragon bows out of Hong Kong

Kowloon Motor Bus company's very last step entrance, the Dennis Dragon finally came to a end on the evening of the 6th July in Hong Kong. Huge numbers of local bus enthusiasts gathered at Star Ferry to gave it a farewell send off. ADS235 (JD4215) was the last one of the batch to retire and used on route 8, carried a full loading of enthusiasts.

ADS235 (JD4215) has another significance for being the last of the type within the fleet. KMB took a trio of tri-axle Dragons way back in 1982, and went on to take a total of 1,326 examples. Remarkably, this quantity exceeded the total number of Dominators - the 2-axle version that the Dragon originates from - that Dennis ever built (which include 40 examples that KMB acquired to its fleet in mid-80s).
