CaetanoBus Delivers The First of Ten H2.City Gold Hydrogen-Powered Buses to Wiesbaden

Following the contract signed between representatives of the public transport operator of Wiesbaden and CaetanoBus, at the beginning of last year here, CaetanoBus has just commenced deliveries of the 10 hydrogen buses to Wiesbaden (Germany).
The same city where a large batch of Mercedes eCitaro e-buses (the first with solid-state batteries) are running.

The 12m
H2.City Gold hydrogen-powered buses will be operated by ESWE Verkehr, the public transport operator of Wiesbaden, on the routes 16 and 17.
As a mobility service provider for the state capital Wiesbaden, ESWE Verkehr pursues the goal of locally emission-free public transport. The new and emission-free fuel cell buses will play an important part of the clean air plan for the state capital Wiesbaden.

Propulsion of the H2.City Gold is provided by a Siemens electric motor with a nominal power of 180 kW. The tank storage capacity is 37.5 kg of hydrogen, which gives the buses a range of more than 400 kilometres. (248 miles)

Since December 2020, Toyota Caetano Portugal (TCAP) is the direct shareholder of CaetanoBus. This enhanced strategic alliance has reflected Toyota Motor Europe’s objective to further expand its commercial zero-emission mobility by leveraging CaetanoBus’ long-standing bus business and recent strong efforts in the development and sales of zero-emission buses.
